Top 10 things rabbits don't like

Real beauties with a cheerful disposition! That is why rabbits are one of the most popular pets.
It's easy to take care of them, but you should keep in mind the things these little guys do NOT like the most.

  1. High temperatures. Rabbits feel good at temperatures of 19-25 degrees. But over 30 degrees is already a danger! Rabbits can only remove excess heat through their long ears. Make sure your pet has a comfortable cage and don't forget to put it in the shade.
  2. Unpleasant odors. Rabbits have an incredibly keen sense of smell. Therefore, they are frightened by the smell of blood or urine. They are also sensitive to the aromas of crushed red pepper, ammonia, vinegar, and garlic.
  3. Loneliness. Rabbits are usually not lonely in the wild. They are very social and need constant companionship. Rabbits move in pairs and large groups, protecting each other from predators.
  4. Lack of a hiding place. It is important for rabbits to have a safe place to hide when threatened. If there is no shelter, the rabbit experiences stress and anxiety.
  5. Contacts with predators. Introducing a rabbit to cats or dogs is a bad idea. The kid perceives them as predators. Accordingly, the animal will experience severe stress. In the wild, a rabbit can even die of fear when it smells a predator.
  6. Loud noises. Loud noises are very frightening for rabbits, because they have super-sensitive hearing. Fireworks, thunder, explosions, loud music, and even the sound of a vacuum cleaner can harm a rabbit.

  7. Water procedures. Rabbits are very clean animals and usually do not need to be bathed. Water procedures can be harmful because the baby can panic and get injured.
  8. Wet, stale, dusty hay. It is important to give your rabbit high quality hay - fresh, with a pleasant odor and without dust. It is better to take greenish rather than brownish hay. And remember that hay is the most important part of a rabbit's diet because it contains fiber, which is essential for the health of its digestive system.
  9. Small space. Rabbits are social, intelligent and very curious animals that love to explore everything. Keeping rabbits in tiny cages can provoke diseases such as obesity and even depression.
  10. Rough treatment. Rabbits should be treated calmly and peacefully. Impulsive actions put them under stress.
