Most pets learn to use the door almost the first time, but some may be a little nervous at first. The following tips will help your pet take full advantage of the freedom of the outdoors and the comfort of being at home.

1. The most important rule – Be patient when teaching your pet to use the door. Do not hurry. Let the animal understand for itself that it can independently leave the house and enter the house, as well as in the necessary room. Do not force him through the door, otherwise the cat or dog may be frightened.
2. Many owners install pet doors when they move. If this is your case, be sure to let your pet get used to the new environment before installing the pet door. 3. After installing the pet door, leave it open for a while. 5. With cats, things are a little different. Encourage your pet to use the door, for example with food or treats: first feed your pet next to the door inside the house, and then next to the door outside the house. Repeat this procedure as many times as needed.
6. If your pet is not familiar with doors at all, you may need to be patient to learn. When your dog or cat starts to make progress, give your pet plenty of praise, because he deserves it!
